Pedal regal

Courage, imagination and trust of one of my clients enabled me to built a regal, that to my knowledge has never been made like this. A pedal-instrument with two stops in 16 and 8foot range, which can be used together with harpsichord.

Both stops can be altered in volume and colour with lids and leavers, independently for treble and bass.

The Hungarian Eszter Szedmák shows the instrument in a possible arrangement with both stops in this video. In the course of time, together with the owner, I will be able to discover and hopefully document further possibilities of use. Be it for solo playing, be it for use as a continuo instrument to provide or strengthen the bass and double bass voice. To my own surprise its impact in big spaces is quite remarkable.
